Launch Details
At the Nio Day event in Guangzhou, co-founder and CEO William Li announced the launch of the Firefly model, emphasizing its affordability and advanced EV technologies. The introduction of this smaller, more economical car is designed to make electric vehicles accessible to a broader audience worldwide.
Li stated, "We think it is our corporate responsibility to pursue a sustainable and better future." He further assured the audience of 22,000 Nio owners that "Nio will build the best electric cars for global customers."
Pricing and Features
The initial Firefly model is priced at 148,000 yuan (approximately US$20,284) and deliveries are set to commence in April.
This vehicle will utilize Nio's battery swap technology, allowing users to replace a depleted battery with a fully charged one in under three minutes. Additionally, the Firefly is equipped with self-parking capabilities, although specifics regarding its driving range and digital cockpit have yet to be disclosed.

Li claims that Firefly cars offer superior intelligence compared to Mini models and brings a stylish design when matched against other vehicles boasting smart features.
