The Chinese 3D printer manufacturer Piocreat will be working with the US software company Helio Additive in the future. The aim of the cooperation is to integrate the Dragon simulation software into Piocreat’s 3D printing systems. The software was specially developed to optimize physical printing processes and will be supplied as standard with the G5 Ultra and G12 models from May .

Dragon supports the automated adjustment of printing parameters based on physical simulations. Users should benefit from more stable printing processes, improved material adhesion and shorter production times – without compromising on quality. According to Helio Additive, the tool reduces common problems such as warpage or delamination.

The use of Dragon promises increased process reliability, particularly in the field of large-format FDM printing. The software enables virtual testing of different parameter combinations, thereby minimizing material waste and manual corrections. In one application example, the reject rate of a component was reduced by 70 percent. At the same time, the company saved around 300 kilograms of material and several weeks of development time, according to Helio Additive.

Dragon has been on the market since and was developed specifically for industrial applications where conventional test and error strategies are associated with high costs. In future, it will also be offered in combination with Piocreat’s sales partner network. A test version is supplied with new devices ex works.
