• To provide easy access to work, place it in an area with 0.5 m clearance.

• You can store the unpackaged packages in a row with one on the other. To do this, the supports of the upper packages and lower packages should be placed vertically corresponding.

• If the dimensions of supports are different or the package is broken, don’t stack them over each other.

• Avoid placing anything on the PU Sandwich Panel that can damage the packaging or can destroy its appearance. Don’t walk on the wall panel.

• You can wrap your package with waterproof material like a fixed tarpaulin or equivalent, if it’s broken or opened, or can place it under a roof.

• The protective film is used to prevent its metal facings from precipitation and direct sunlight.

• Read the recommended instructions to know the right time for removing the protective film.

Sealing Of Fasteners and Joints

To prevent air and vapor movement, joints in between should be tightly locked.

The PU Sandwich Panel should have no gaps. To remove gaps from it if any, fill it using insulating or sealant materials.

To avoid entrance of outdoor air or precipitation of buildings, seal the joints and fasteners.

What are the Methods for Cleaning your PU Sandwich Panel?

Cleaning your PU Sandwich Panel is essential for its maintenance. You can use any of the three mentioned cleaning methods that are commonly used:

Method 1. Cleaning With Water Jet

Make use of clean water with low salt content and water jet at high pressure to clean the PU Sandwich Panel. The pressure of the water jet should be higher than 4Mpa.

Water jet at a higher pressure should be kept at least 50 cm away at a skew angle from the surface.

Take care that while cleaning, no water enters the joints by avoiding placing water jet exactly onto the joints.

You should keep the water temperature up to +30 C normally but it can be raised to 50 C if you see the surface of the PU Sandwich Panel.

Method 2. Clean Agents Cleaning

Cleaning agents having a pH between 5 to 10 with no organic solvents can be used for cleaning the surface.

Method 3. Clean With Organic Solvents

Organic solvents such as isopropanol, ethyl acetate, white spirit, or cleaning agents containing solvents like windshield washer fluids can be used to clean permanent stains and residuals of the adhesive.

While cleaning the PU Sandwich Panel, keep seeing the solvent does not change or destroy the appearance of the metal covering.

To apply solvent on the surface, use a sponge or textile. You can use the rubber or plastic scraper for the removal of adhesive residues.

While using soapy water is a good suggestion for cleaning the rest of the portion.

The coating of the steel facing needs extra care. It can easily be changed due to ultraviolet radiation, air pollution, and temperature fluctuations.

If the PU Sandwich Panel is in direct contact with sunlight,  the temperature can reach up to 60°C for light colors and 80°C for dark colors.

However, the temperature of the air in shades remains +28 °C. The possibility of damage increases at a higher temperature.

Microcracks can be observed if rainwaters drop on the heated steel coating. Polymer scratching also becomes easy in high temperatures as the hardness of polymer decreases.

The polymer coating vanishes out due to climate changes which make the surface matted and top polluted.

You may also experience bubbling, peeling, cracks, and corrosion of paints if the damage is extreme.

If PU Sandwich Panel is properly installed, has the light color of coating according to the climate then up to 25 to 50 years it will show no sign of aging. The light color coatings are more durable than dark color coatings.

If you encounter larger area damages they may be due to climate changes as climate changes are never local and are spread all over the area. The best way of repairing the damage caused by climate change is by painting it all over again.

Another main cause of damage in the PU Sandwich Panel is mechanical impact. It causes dents, scratches, and other damages but requires little repairing most of the time.
